Above piccy of Echo Beach this time last year
So that's it, a gorgeous weekend with over 50 people down at Echo Beach today, my holiday is over and back to the Monastery for me tomorrow. I always have feelings of anxiety when returning from holidays, I always expect “something” to have happened, When the Ewoks bought out The Empire happened when I was on Holiday as was my ultimate transfer to The Lost World. But I don't feel anything significant has occurred there other than the usual rumble of toilet rumours, I plan on going once again on Sh*tehawk, due to the hot weather which we are experiencing here in the UK.
Well I say hot it was maybe the mid to lower twenties today in Celsius but I was surprised that Echo Beach was so full, its the first time I have seen it like that since way back in my drinking days which are eclipsed by a fog, we brought a old Dingy which had a slow puncture so I ended up sinking in it, while another guy went over the weir with it.
I finished decorating the Toilet yesterday at the same time Luke and LB-head cut the hedges in our front garden that was again after of course we had been down to the river, really enjoyed the last couple of days diving off the wall near the junction of the River Calder and The Calder & Hebble Navigation and showing Luke all our old summer tricks of many youthful times of my past. I think the canal boat drivers think I am completely crazy when Luke, Me and two dogs emerge from the underground culvert which is maybe 3 feet in diameter to the overflow to the canal, I wonder if at 40 its too old to be doing this sought of thing.
Anyway all is quiet here at The Orphanage now Luke, LB-head and Farquaad have gone to there mums until Wednesday and I am listening to “Shine On You Crazy Diamond” by Pink Floyd. I was going to write a poem but instead I will reproduce one that a lad from Sellers where I used to work during the nineties once wrote about me…
There once was a lad called Mad Mike
Who travelled to work on a bike One day he was late
cycling through the gate Which was something his employers didn't like....
Your time keeping it must get better
He was warned in the form of a letter
If you're once again late
The sack will be your fate
Your excuses are just getting wetter
He says he's now a Jedi Master
But his bike is a transport disaster
His excuses don't wash
So he must borrow some dosh
From his father and buy something faster
I was going strange looking back at how my life has changed in so many ways, feel inspired tonight by all the friends blogs I have read tonight and onwards to the monastery I go.
My bright Orange Tango Suit is ready and my alarm is set thanks everyone for being there and thanks my HP for another sober day my 1735th according to my spreadsheet but the numbers no longer matter.

Me, too. A Blong time! Howdy. (I've shortened my comments somewhat since last summer. Ooops! that's enough.
Hey Michael. Good time at the beach sounds great. There were about 200 people at the place where I anchor. And there was a live reggae band. First time, I've seen a band set up there.
Great song by Pink Floyd. Have a good day back at the Monastery.
well, by now your monday is truly underway, if not nearly over, so i hope you managed to wake up on time, and survive the first day back. i know, it's nasty!!!!!!
great words of strength from a stand up guy that would face down any stronghold for the sake of the light side (or a lovely field)
